License Installation Instructions

In order to register the appliance, please follow the below instructions:

For the Check Point Appliance device:

Starting R81 and R80.40 (Jumbo Hotfix Take xxx and higher), you can manage licenses directly in SmartConsole*:

1. From the left navigation panel, click the Gateways & Servers view.
2. In the top pane, select the applicable Management Server or Security Gateway object.
3. In the bottom pane, click the Licenses tab.
4. View, add, or delete a license.

*The 'cplic' command is still supported (see the CLI Reference Guide for your version).

For earlier versions:

To add a license with the 'cplic' command
A) Connect to the command line and log in to Gaia Clish or the Expert mode.
B) Paste this command and press Enter:

To add a license in SmartUpdate:
A) Connect with SmartConsole to the Management Server
B) In the top left corner, click Menu > Manage licenses & packages.
C) In the top left corner, click Menu > View > Menu Bar.
D) Click the Licenses & Contracts tab.
E) Click the Licenses & Contracts menu at the top > Add License > From File.
F) Locate and select the downloaded CPLicenseFile.lic file.
G) Click Open.
H) Follow the instructions in the SmartUpdate.

For the Security Management Server:

Run 'cplic put 10.0.100.254 never aryDgMn5P-ZV8RpbufD-DG7kHLudr-YgXt8eK7s cpvp-snx-5-ngx cpsb-swb cpsb-adnc-m CK-00-1C-7F-8D-DF-DD'


You may also activate your license(s) by applying the 'License File' directly to your Security Management Server (from SmartUpdate: select license tab -> Licenses menu26 -> Add -> from file).
