Attachment : Background on Israeli Legal System Belgium - Updated Draft 23.5.2017 (2)....docx;

Dear Marlene and All

Attached are my suggestions regarding the overview of the Israeli legal system.

I would normally send it to Michèle and team so that you could have a coordinated version of our comments, but since we are running against the clock, I thought it might be better to send my comments immediately.

Kind regards

Nicolas

Dear Michele and Nicolas

Please find attached a first draft of talking points, we took the draft that you sent us earlier today and added it into our sections. We would like you to go through the points again, to comment on the structure, the sections we added, and any further or additional information which you would relay (Please ignore the Hebrew comments).

It seems that the meeting is going to be set up for this June 1st, the day after our holiday of Shavuot. So we must get all of the drafts completed by tomorrow, so we can resend the updated versions to our intergovernmental committee to assure that the information is accurate.

We would also like to schedule a call with you and Roy Schondorf and Tami Kaplan (and us) for this Monday – so please block out time (perhaps up to 2 hours) on Monday, May 29th at 1pm Israel Time, so we can go through the papers together and discuss any strategic issues before the meetings.

An overview of the papers we must have ready:

(1)    Legal Memorandum (which you relayed to us and we are reviewing)

(2)    Talking Points for visit (attached – we need to see if we need to split them up if there are 2 meetings – one at the foreign office and one with the federal prosecutor;

(3)    Specific Examination of the Olive Grove Incident paper (relayed to you yesterday, we are awaiting your comments to the non-final draft)

(4)    Visual Aids and/or materials to present (map of area/firing from olive grove…)

Warm regards,

Marlene
