יש לי בעיה עם הנק' השניה. אנו מבקשים את תמיכתם מול גורמים מחוץ לישראל שתוקפים את מערכת המשפט, וכרגע זה יכול גם להשתמע שמדובר על התקפות מבית. צריך לחדד את המסר, שיהיה ברור שאנו מדברים רק על הראשון (בהקשר זה לדוגמא, היועמ"ש לממשלה אינו גורם מותקף כ"כ).

 

אגב, מעבר לנק' לשיחה, שזה די בקטנה, חשוב הרבה יותר להכין את היועץ לדברים שהוא עלול לשמוע מהם. לשם כך אני גם צריכים לראות איזה נושאים עלו בדיאלוג מנכלים, וגם לראות מה יעלה בדיאלוג המשפטי שלנו איתם בעוד שבועיים. יש נושא די גדול, שלא מן הנמנע שהם ישאלו אותו.

 

זה ייקח קצת יותר זמן, לא אגיע לזה בימים הקרובים (מה גם שלפני הדיאלוג איתם זה די חסר טעם).

We were informed by Ms. Livni that she was informed by the relevant British authorities that the file regarding the complaint filed against her was closed.  Israeli officials and former officials, who have experience on a vast range of national security issues have been travelling to London for meetings on a broad range of issues, including national security, which is an important part of the continuing relationship between our two countries. 

 

In recent months, our office, the office of the Attorney General and the State Attorney, as well as Israel's Supreme Court and legal system is under attack by activists promoting a political agenda against Israel, and it is important for us to strengthen these institutions and protect the rule of law, and Israel's ability to conduct independent investigations regarding matters related to international humanitarian law. In this regard, it would be helpful if relevant British authorities would make public statements recognizing the independence of Israel's legal system, including the independence of its courts and prosecutorial authorities and their ability to investigate and handle issues regarding allegations arising under international law and international humanitarian law.

 

 

 

Perhaps we can suggest to strengthen a DOJ-DOJ dialogue in counter-terrorism and national security issues: (or potentially on other civil/criminal issues as well)

We would like to increase the cooperation between our respective offices in the legal sphere, and in that respect we would like to invite the relevant officials in your office to Israel for a one day study visit in which we can exchange views on challenges and opportunities in counter-terrorism prosecutions.
