Silvia, my cell number is +43-699-1459-4229. I spoke today to Brigitte, who is in Abu Dhabi. We will, of course, continue to push UAE to issue visas to your delegation.
However, assuming this will not happen, we will prepare for the scenario you mentioned below. We have assurances from UAE that they will do their part. We hope to provide your delegation several contact numbers: UAE contact at airport, UNODC contact at airport (one our regional office staff will be available AT the airport - Brigitte has the name and number - person speaks Arabic), and UNODC contact outside airport (that could be me and/or Brigitte). We are also preparing a letter on UNODC letterhead confirming the delegation and your being registered/credentialed for the event.
Brigitte is in Abu Dhabi and in direct contact with our hosts, so she would be the best person for any follow up. I am ccing her here and her cell number is +43--699-1459-4407. Of course, I always remain available to discuss further with Itai or anyone else from your delegation (use the number above).
Let's keep communicating on this and looking for a positive result.
Regards, John

Hello again John ,
At Itai’s request, may I ask for your mobile phone number ,? The delegation would like to be able to be in direct contact , only if the circumstances will become complicated , of course ( regarding access to the conference and participation in it).
Thanks ,
Silvia

Dear John,
The Israeli delegation has been now informed that the UAE can’t provide them with visas, but will inform the Jordanian airlines that the delegation can fly with them to the UAE, and upon landing they will be welcomed at the airport and escorted.,
Since this arrangement is new info from today ( though our delegation’s participation is in the pipeline for months now), we would like to ask for your supervision on the issue , to ensure the delegation has smooth access to the UAE and is able to fully participate.
Thank you and I’m available to talk if needed ( after 12:30). ,
