Ambassador – Head of Mission: Mr. Yacov Hadas-Handelsman

 

Ambassador Yacov Hadas-Handelsman is serving as Ambassador of Israel to the European Union and NATO since August 2011.

 

Before coming to Brussels, he was the Deputy Director General and Head of the Middle East and Peace Process Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

Mr. Hadas-Handelsman joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1983 after eight years of military service. He has also served in Austria, Qatar, the United Kingdom and Jordan.

 

He earned a first degree in International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies from Tel Aviv University and a second degree in Middle Eastern Studies from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
