Support visits:
The smooth development of this study report requires a series of support visits by the two project experts to the MEDA countries. Such visits will enable the experts to see, in situ, the specificities and peculiarities of each legal system being visited. These are thus concrete visits that need to be arranged and planned in collaboration with yourself, as National Focal Point, or with the person you will appoint to this effect.
- Such visits should be short, 2 days per country, due to their constructive and practical nature; an agenda for these visits should be drafted in coordination between the experts and the National Focal Points.
The agenda of the support visits could include, for example, for each country:
- A visit to an Appeal Court that is particularly modern as far as quality of services of access to justice offered to the users is concerned. (half-day visit with, if possible, exchanges with magistrates, bar associations, etc.)
- A visit to a Court of First Instance or proximity court, the intention being here to see a court representing the average of the offer made to the users regarding access to justice. (half-day visit with, if possible, exchanges with magistrates, bar associations, etc.)
- A visit of services in charge of access to justice at the Ministry of Justice. (half-day visit with, if possible, exchanges with officers in charge of these topics at the Ministry)
- A visit to a Legal Aid Office or a NGO or an Association providing legal aid services etc. the choice should be based on the significance of these actors for access to justice in the country in question. ((half-day visit with, if possible, exchanges with staff of the Office or members of the NGO or Association).
