Following the brief consultation period, the long statement on the ‘FinCEN Files’ disclosure and the Q&A style press points have been finalised for use by the Chair.Please note, if more information comes to light, a new statement may be issued and/or the press points may require updating.
As in our last message, we encourage members to reach out to their Regional Representative(s) should they have any concerns to be shared with the Group.

Dear HoFIU,
We hope this message finds you well.
With regards to the ‘FinCEN Files’ disclosure, a short statement was posted on September 25th on behalf of the Chair on the EG’s public website. The statement aligns with the Chair’s prior communication to all HoFIU on this topic.
In the attached statement document, there are two versions of the statement which mirror the approach taken by the FATF. The shorter statement was what has been posted on the EG’s public website on behalf of the Chair. The longer statement and the attached Q&A style press points will assist the Chair if she is approached by the media.
The EC has reviewed both the long statement and Q&A style press points. At this time, we kindly ask that if you have any objections to the proposals, you flag them by 10:00 am EST on Wednesday, September 30th.
Members are also encouraged to reach out to their Regional Representative(s) should they have any concerns to be shared with the Group.
