Letter on behalf of the RRs - Ms. Oxana Gisca and Mr. Daniel Thelesklaf

Dear colleagues,

We hope that this letter finds you well and healthy!

We would like to present to your attention the phase 1 report, which is prepared as part of the Egmont Group IT review. This phase 1 report is for information only and it is not supposed to trigger any further discussions or decision-making process. The project will be carried out with the next two phases, as envisaged in the approved Memo by the HoFIU.

Background information:

The Egmont Group’s 2018-2021 Strategic Plan adopted by the HoFIU in Sydney, Australia, calls for the implementation of a program for the acquisition of information technology. The Strategic Plan also calls for improvements to the current technology used within the organization (Egmont Group 2018-2021 Strategic Plan, paragraph 25).

In March 2019 the HoFIU noted a Memorandum which provided the basis of the Review of the Egmont IT Needs project. Among other things this Memo determined the Strategic Management Review of IT Needs – The project was divided into three phases:

·       Phase 1 – Understanding the Egmont Group’s IT Situation As-Is;

·       Phase 2 – Articulating the To-Be State; and

·       Phase 3 – Performing a Gap Analysis to Inform Decision-Making about further investments.

The project is managed by an EC Steering Group, which has been specifically set up to carry out this oversight.

The analytical part of the project is conducted by an external consultant – Capgemini Deutschland GmbH, which is the author of the phase 1 report. The report is based on information about the current IT architecture of the EGS and ESW, which was collected by Capgemini through series of questionnaires and templates. In parallel, Capgemini also launched initial interviews with necessary targeted groups (EC members, HoFIUs, IT experts, etc.) in order to identify the main IT requirements of the organisation, as well as the level of satisfaction with the current technology deployed in the Egmont Group. All FIU members included in the list for these interviews were selected based on Capgemini’s needs, and were approved by the EC Steering Group.

Next steps:

It is expected that in the next month Capgemini will provide the phase 2 report and the final report, which will culminate in a roadmap detailing the prioritised suggestions for implementation, which should trigger the subsequent decision-making process by the HoFIU. The roadmap will indicate the order and timeline along which the suggestions will be implemented.

Best regards,

EUROPE II
