**Message on behalf of the Egmont Group Vice Chairs**
Dear Colleagues,
We hope this message finds you well.
In accordance with the contingency plan put in place following the postponement of the Oaxaca Plenary meeting, the Heads of FIUs opted to select the next Egmont Group (EG) Chair through an out-of-session process. All relevant documents for the selection process were made available to the HoFIU (via ESW) on June 04th, 2020. This included the recommendation of the Advisory Panel for the selection of Mrs. Hennie Verbeek-Kusters, FIU The Netherlands, as Chair of the Egmont Group.
Since Mrs. Hennie Verbeek-Kusters is the Interim Chair of the Egmont Group, she recused herself from wrapping up the HoFIU consensus on her own selection. She opted to delegate this task to us, the new EG Vice-Chairs, as per the authority afforded to the role in the EG Charter.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the HoFIU for their full support of the Advisory Panel’s (AP) recommendation. Considering that no opposition/objections were expressed by the HoFIU to the recommendation of the AP regarding the selection of the EG Chair, under the authority provided by the EG Charter (Section 6.2-D-7 & 8), we hereby conclude that there is consensus among the HoFIU for the selection of Mrs. Hennie Verbeek Kusters, HoFIU The Netherlands as the EG Chair.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Chair for her tremendous commitment to the Group and we look forward to working together to lead the Egmont Group.
Kind regards,
Marko Stolle and Xolisile Khanyile
