Dear Heads of FIU,
I hope this email finds you well.
I would like to inform you that September 3rd, 2020 was the final deadline for collecting your comments and endorsement of the Letter of Agreement (LOA) for the financial contribution from INL to ECOFEL, for a total amount of USD 4,575,380.15 for a two year
period. That contribution has been framed pursuant to Section 7.13 of the Egmont Group Charter and Section 7 of the ECOFEL Terms of Reference.
Within the deadline, we received an objection and a request of clarification from two members. Both of them were addressed bilaterally, so with that, I conclude that we have consensus with this proposal, since I have noted and given due consideration to
the substantiated issues raised by these two FIUs in accordance with Section 1.2 of the Charter.
Therefore, within the authority granted to me by the Charter (Section 6.2.B.2 -The Chair builds consensus within the Egmont Group-), I would like to conclude the consensus within Egmont Group to approve the Letter of Agreement (LOA) which will be signed by
the Executive Secretary, according to the Egmont Group Secretariat Financial and Administrative Police and Procedures.
I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate the ECOFEL staff for this important outcome, which will allow us to enhance the Egmont Group’s knowledge and expertise.
