In view of the international situation caused by COVID-19 and by the rigorous measures implemented by the Tunisian Goverment, the CTAF is now working with a limited capacity based. Dear HoFIU, Dear colleagues,
I hope this communication finds you well.
Given the exceptional circumstances generated by the COVID-19 outbreak, many Egmont Group members have implemented precautionary measures to ensure protection of staff, while maintaining business continuity. Such measures may result in longer than expected times for processing requests for cooperation from partner FIUs. To ensure international cooperation within EG continues effectively under the current exceptional circumstances, all HoFIU are invited to communicate to the Egmont Group Secretariat the following information:
1. Whether the FIU has implemented, or is considering implementing, special measures in response to COVID-19.
2. The categories of measures implemented (e.g. office closures, staff requested to work remotely, etc.)
Please indicate the start-date and the end-date of such measures (if known).
3. An FIU Point of Contact (POC) authorised to address emergency requests for cooperation
- Name, position, email address, phone number
- Please indicate if the person is the same POC as listed in the TF Emergency Contact List
Please send this information via ESW to secretariat@egmont.org by Friday, March 20th, 2020. The Secretariat will include the data into a COVID-19 Emergency Cooperation POC List that will be made available on ESW. If there is no reply within the timeline, EGS will assume and indicate in the COVID-19 Emergency Cooperation POC List that your FIU is operating normally and the POC is the same as in the TF Emergency Contact List.
You are also requested to keep the EGS permanently updated, at secretariat@egmont.org, on the situation and changes required for the COVID-19 Emergency Cooperation POC List. Keeping the list up-to-date at all times may prevent serious situations from emerging under the current circumstances. During these exceptional times, HoFIU are reminded to take enhanced care when marking requests for information as “urgent”.
