We hope this email finds you well.
We would like to inform you that during the Egmont Committee meeting in January this year, the EC approved the Strategic Framework for the Egmont Biennial Census Overhaul developed by the EGS and the Information Management Reference Group (IMRG), supported by an external consultant.
The Strategic Framework will set the direction for the subsequent work on streamlining the content/structure of the EBC questionnaire and on the IT side of the project, making the Census easier and faster to complete and its results better to use.
Based on the Framework, the consultant in coordination with the EGS and the IMRG, will produce a final report with proposals for the new EBC questionnaire and recommended improvements to the EBC Application with regards to the functionalities and customer experience. The report will be subject to review by the IMRG and the EC in March-April 2021 and is expected to be brought for the HoFIU approval in May 2021.
It is anticipated that the implementation phase of the EBC overhaul project (testing of the new EBC questionnaire on the IT platform) that will require the involvement of FinCEN, will begin in early June 2021 with the aim to launch the new EBC cycle in September 2021.
Please find attached the EBC Strategic Framework approved by the EC for your endorsement.
