Dear Heads of Egmont Group FIUs,
Thank you for your consideration of the Egmont Committee’s decision to appoint Mr. Sergio Espinosa, current Regional Representative for Americas and former Egmont Group Chair, to act as the Interim Vice-Chair. Given the support received and the fact that no opposition was expressed, I hereby conclude there is HoFIU consensus for the appointment of Mr. Sergio Espinosa as EG Interim Vice Chair. Sergio will cover this position, alongside Mrs. Xolisile Khanyile, and bridge the gap until the HoFIU select a new Egmont Group Vice Chair (procedure in progress).
I take this opportunity to congratulate Sergio and welcome him to the EG leadership team. Your contribution to this organization is really much appreciated.

Dear Heads of Egmont Group FIUs,
I hope this message finds you well.
Following Marko’s departure from FIU Germany and the Egmont Group, one of the Egmont Group Vice-Chair positions remained vacant. To avoid prolonged interim intervals in this important position the Executive Secretary already launched a call for nominations for one Egmont Group Vice Chair. All information regarding the nomination process is available in the Egmont Secure Web.
Until a new Egmont Group Vice Chair is selected, the Terms of Reference and Selection Procedure for the Vice-Chair of the Egmont Group (attached; adopted 2019 – The Hague) require the Egmont Committee to appoint one of its members to act as the Interim Egmont Group Vice-Chair. I am happy to announce that the Committee decided to appoint Mr. Sergio Espinosa, current Regional Representative for Americas and former Egmont Group Chair, to act as the Interim Vice-Chair. Mr. Espinosa’s previous experience in chairing this organization and his consistent involvement in current workstreams will be an asset for the leadership team and the Egmont Group as a whole.
The Egmont Committee’s decision is hereby presented for your consideration and endorsement. Feedback is welcomed by Friday, February 19th , 2021 (COB Ottawa). As per regular practice, no responses will be considered as tacit approval. If endorsed, Mr. Sergio Espinosa will cover this position, alongside Mrs. Xolisile Khanyile, and bridge the gap until the HoFIU select a new Egmont Group Vice Chair.
