Dear colleagues,

I am referring to your request from the 8th December, 2019 regarding the topic economic citizenship
program.

It is not possible for us to see how or under which circumstances a person has obtained the German
citizenship. However, as Germany does not provide an economic citizenship program, it is not required to
check if somebody has obtained the citizenship with the mentioned program.

In the course of our current work of analysing the implications of economic citizenship programs, we would be grateful if you let us know whether in response to an incoming information request, your FIU is able to identify and convey that a citizen of your jurisdiction has received citizenship as part of an Economic Citizenship program.
