Dear HoFIU,

The ECOFEL team is pleased to inform you that work has begun on the FIU Media Toolkit.

The Toolkit aims to provide members FIUs with support for their media and communications activities. 

The ECOFEL team is currently developing a learning plan, but some help is needed to represent FIUs’ realities best.

The Media Toolkit will cover the following subject areas:

  • Developing a Communications Strategy
  • Internal Communication (e.g., how to communicate within an organization and with internal stakeholders)
  • Media Engagement (e.g., templates of press releases, guidance on managing media inquiries)
  • Media Training (e.g., preparing spokespeople, structuring responses to the media, how to handle a media inquiry)
  • Social Media (e.g., identifying the most appropriate platform/tone to use for your FIU’s account and your professional account, developing an online presence, social media analytics, how to run an FIU’s social media pages (do’s and don’ts))
  • Content Creation (e.g., advice on structuring communications content, web articles, social media (content and images)).
  • PR Activities (e.g., promotion activities and opportunities, best practices)
  • Crisis Management (e.g., developing a plan and strategy for crises management)

We would very much appreciate your support to better address all the topics listed above. If your FIU has any success stories, particular strategies, and resources to share with other FIUs, we kindly ask you let the ECOFEL team know.
