Dear Colleagues,

 

The Egmont Committee is looking at enhancing the active engagement of member FIUs to the work of the Egmont Group. In order to do that, the Committee is trying first to understand the underlying causes that prevent some member FIUs to participate more actively to the ongoing initiatives in our organization. The attached EGS analysis, covering the interval January 2017- July 2019, provides an overview of our Region’s contribution to the Egmont Group. It does not cover the payment of membership contributions as this is an obligation under the Charter.

Please review the attached matrix and flag any contributions from your FIU that may have been missed by the EGS in their analysis. Also, please share your views on the following:

  • What are the most salient causes that may prevent your FIU to have a more active participation/contribution to the work of the Egmont Group? and
  • What would be helpful for/stimulate your FIU to get more involved to the ongoing initiatives of the Egmont Group?

The Regional Representatives are expected to update the Egmont Committee about the results of this regional consultation during the upcoming meeting in Mauritius (January 2020).
