I hope this message finds you in good health.

To ensure our organization’s important business continues in an uninterrupted manner and consistent with the contingency plan established following the Oaxaca Plenary’s postponement, on June 05th, the HoFIU were invited to consider the following documents out-of-session:

  • 4 documents for out-of-session approval:
    • HoFIU-01 - Egmont Group Budget FY2020-2021
    • HoFIU-02 - Selection of the Egmont Group Chair and Vice Chairs (7 sub-documents)
    • HoFIU-03 - Membership Application FIU Bhutan
    • HoFIU-05 - Implementation of 2018-2021 Egmont Group Strategic Plan
  • 4 documents for out-of-session noting:
    • HoFIU-04 - Review of Egmont IT needs
    • HoFIU-06 - Report on Egmont Group Interim Budget Outcomes FY 2019-2020
    • HoFIU-07 - Report on EGS Annual Business Plan FY 2019-2020
    • HoFIU-08 - EC Virtual Meetings - Decision Matrix May 27&28.

I would like to thank the HoFIU for taking the time to review the documents and providing their valuable feedback. A compilation of all the comments received is available for your reference in the attached spreadsheet.

After analyzing the HoFIU feedback, as per the authority outlined in the Egmont Group Charter (Section 6.2-B-2), I hereby conclude that there is consensus among the HoFIU on the following matters:

  1. The adoption of the Egmont Group Budget 2020-2021 as presented by the Egmont Group Secretariat (EGS)
  2. The admission of FIU Bhutan as an Egmont Group Member
  3. The extension of the 2018-2021 Egmont Group Strategic Plan for one additional year, until the Plenary in 2022
  4. The noting of the Review of Egmont IT needs, the Egmont Group Interim Budget Outcomes FY 2019-2020, the EGS Annual Business Plan FY 2019-2020 and the Decision Matrix of the Egmont Committee Virtual Meeting in May 27&28.

On behalf of the whole Egmont Group, I will congratulate FIU Bhutan for their commitment and efforts in meeting the EG standards once they are connected to the ESW. Our new member is warmly welcomed into our global community. The EGS will support the on-boarding of our new colleagues.

The HoFIU consensus on the selection of the EG Chair and Vice-Chairs has been confirmed through separate communications sent earlier this week.
