Dear IEWG members,
We hope this email finds you well.
As you may recall, during the IEWG meeting in February this year, the Group agreed to launch new project on the FIU role in combating laundering of corruption proceeds with a specific focus on cases of corruption activities emerging in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This short-term project aims to take a snapshot of the situation of the past period (since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic) from FIUs perspective and shed some light on emerging risks as well as measures undertaken by FIUs in order to make their actions more effective and share FIUs' best practices and knowledge in this regard.
The project is led by FIU of Italy and FIU of Armenia and is aimed to be finalized by July 2021. More information on the background and objectives of the project can be found in the attached Concept Note.
On behalf of the project leads, we invite all IEWG members you to complete the attached Questionnaire and provide relevant case studies by Thursday, April 29, 2021.
