Dear Heads of FIUs,

I hope this email finds you well.

As announced in my communication below, our organization will select one new Egmont Group Vice Chair.

According to the Terms of Reference and Selection Procedure for the Egmont Group Vice Chairs, a call for nomination was launched on January 25th, 2021, allowing a four weeks interval for interested HoFIU or suitable senior representative to submit nominations. On February 22nd, I have informed the HoFIU that no nominations was received in response to the call and I extended the nomination period for an additional 2 weeks. Within the deadline, Mrs. Anne Marie KEMNA, HoFIU Curacao, presented her nomination for the vacant position of Egmont Group Vice Chair.

Consistent with the rules in place, I convened an Advisory Panel that reviewed the nomination and assessed the candidate’s eligibility, based on the selection criteria listed in the attached Terms of Reference. I am happy to inform you that the Advisory Panel determined that Mrs. Anne Marie KEMNA meets the eligibility criteria for the positions of Egmont group Vice Chair.

Please note that the next steps in the selection procedure are:

  • The Advisory Panel will continue its work by interviewing the candidate to determine whether her qualifications meet the skills and experience criteria for the position of Egmont Group Vice Chairs (as listed in the Terms of Reference). At beginning of June (at the latest), the Advisory Panel will provide a written recommendation to the HoFIU, explaining the basis for its recommendation.
  • In the meantime, the candidate will share with the HoFIU a presentation of her skills and experience, as well as her vision for the Egmont Group.
  • Given the current circumstances the selection process will take place through out-of-session procedure. Starting June 4th, the Egmont Group Secretariat is expected to post a MEMORANDUM on the ESW seeking for the out-of-session HoFIU consensus on the recommendation of the Advisory Panel, as per the provisions of paragraph 20 & 21 of the Terms of Reference.

Following up on Secretariat’s communication below regarding the call for nominations for one vacant position of Egmont Group Vice Chair, I would like to inform you that no nomination was received by last Friday’s deadline. Consistent with the provision of the Terms of Reference and Selection Procedure for the Vice Chair of the Egmont Group (paragraph no.2 - attached), the nomination period is extended for a further 2 weeks. Details about the roles and responsibilities of EG Vice Chairs, the eligibility for selection criteria as well as the nomination process are available in the Call for nominations attached.

Interested candidates are invited to submit their nomination via Egmont Secure Web to the Executive Secretary of the Egmont Group – Mr. Jérôme Beaumont, at jerome.beaumont@egmont.org.

The new deadline is Friday, March 05th, 2021 (COB Ottawa).
