**Letter on behalf of the IEWG Chair - Mr. Marko STOLLE**
Dear Colleagues,
Following Mr. Beaumont's save the date message I hereby invite you to the upcoming IEWG Virtual Working Group Meeting from 1st - 4th February 2021.
Face-to-face meetings remain unthinkable, yet our work remains fundamentally the same as before and therefore also our meetings remain essential for exchanging information, for expert discussions and for collaborative efforts among our members, partners and observers.
After our previous virtual meeting in July has already proven that we can also accomplish virtual meetings effectively, and with the need for business continuity and progress despite the pandemic, the IEWG meeting in February 2021 will also be held in an further improved virtual format.
In this context, we are sending you an agenda for a rough overview of the expected topics in the attachment.
Please note that this agenda is subject to change if necessary, further detailed information will follow in due course.
Along with these opening lines I would like to highlight the following:
Technical equipment
- We will use Microsoft Teams as the conferencing solution
- We will use Microsoft OneDrive as the cloud storage solution for non-sensitive meeting documents and the like
- Accessing these documents requires that your IT equipment includes software that can read the following basic file formats: *.pdf;*.docx;*.xlsx and *.pptx
- A well-functioning headset or similar device is essential for a minimum quality of audio input and output
- We recommend using a sufficiently large display, as opposed to a smartphone, to ensure the best possible display of the documents shared during the different stages of the meeting
- Since we cannot meet face-to-face, we would appreciate it, if you had a camera in use during the meeting
- We also recommend a stable internet connection via cable or strong WiFi, as far as possible

- Please note that further detailed information will follow in due course
Target-orientated professional expertise
- During the meeting there will be breakout sessions on various topics that are soon to be determined
- We kindly like to ask you to use the advantages of the virtual meeting especially by increased participation of experts/analysts especially in the breakout sessions covering suitable topics
- We would like to emphasize that this meeting is based on and aligned along its name-giving component: to be a Working Group meeting
- Please note that further detailed information will follow in due course
Testing sessions
· We will conduct testing sessions before the actual IEWG Virtual meeting so that everyone can test their equipment and familiarize themselves with Microsoft Teams if necessary
· Therefore we kindly like to ask you to also save the following dates for these testing sessions:
- 14th December 2020 + 11th January 2021 solely for equipment testing sessions (connection, audio/video)
- 20th + 22nd January 2021 further testing sessions with regard to the use of MS Teams
· Please note that further detailed information will follow in due course.
