Letter to all IEWG members:

Dear IEWG members,

We trust you are well.

On behalf of the IEWG Leadership, please find attached the draft agenda for the upcoming meeting in Mauritius (28-29 January 2020). This meeting will be entirely dedicated to working on the specific projects, and therefore, the there will be only limited time dedicated for updates. As you may see from the agenda, there are again two types of sessions:

  • General Sessions for all members;
  • Breakout Sessions.

As visible from the agenda, during the meeting in Mauritius, IEWG will convene mainly in breakout sessions. These sessions are again divided into stream specific topics and topics which are relevant to the entire group. In Mauritius, some certain level of preparation will be requested from all members, as during some of the breakout sessions all participants will be asked to reply to some questions in order to actively contribute to the IEWG work. To assist to your preparation please see these questions attached as an annex to the draft agenda. There is no need to provide anything in writing or verbally before the meeting in Mauritius, as you will be asked to reply to these questions only during the meeting in January 2020.

Based on the aforementioned, the IEWG Leadership would like to kindly ask all HoFIU to send the most relevant FIU experts who can deliver in accordance with the requirements of the draft agenda. This will help the IEWG project teams to efficiently benefit from the meeting and progress with their work in accordance with the different milestones set in the respective Concept Notes.

The IEWG Leadership would also like to encourage all project team leaders to make the best use of the available time (during the meeting in Mauritius) in order to collect as much useful data and feedback as possible. For this purpose, in accordance with the IEWG Rules on Internal Procedures and SOP, the project team leaders can fully rely on the support of the respective Vice-Chairs and the Secretariat.

We would also like to draw your attention to the fact that some projects will have sidebar meetings on Monday, January 27th. All interested IEWG members are invited to join these sidebar meetings. The draft agenda contains (at the last page) the necessary details (starting hour and meeting room) of the respective sidebar meetings.

The agenda will be also uploaded to the IEWG Community page on ESW.

Thank you very much in advance for your participation and support.

Best regards,

EGS
