Message sent on behalf Mr. Mariano Federici, Chair of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units

Dear Heads of Egmont Group FIUs,

I hope this email finds you well.

Consistent with the HoFIU decisions regarding the new succession planning model for our organization, in the Hague (July 2019), Mrs. Ramatoulaye Gadio Agne (HoFIU Senegal and Regional Representative of West and Central Africa) and Mr. Daniel Thelesklaf (HoFIU Switzerland and Regional Representative of Europe II) were selected as interim Vice-Chairs of the Egmont Committee. Their mandate is to support the EG Chair for one year until the new EG Vice Chairs will be selected in 2020, at which time the EC Vice Chair positions will be eliminated.

Regretfully, in December I was informed that domestic and international commitments led Mr. Daniel Thelesklaf to the decision of stepping down from his position as EC Vice Chair. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Thelesklaf for his excellent work as Egmont Committee Vice Chair during the last months, and for his continued support of our organization as Regional Representative for Europe II and Egmont Committee member.

To ensure that the HoFIU decision of having two EC Vice Chairs supporting the EG Chair until the next Plenary is implemented, the Egmont Committee has agreed to appoint Ms. Hennie Verbeek-Kusters, HoFIU The Netherlands and Regional Representative of Europe I, as new Egmont Committee Vice Chair. Ms. Verbeek-Kusters assumed the position as of 13 December 2019. I would like to thank Mrs. Verbeek-Kusters for making herself available to perform this important role. Her vast experience in our organization will be vital for the development of our Strategic Plans, among other important initiatives.

Best regards,

Mariano Federici

Chair, Egmont Group
