Dear Heads of FIU,
I hope you are all in good health and spirits.
The Heads of FIU (HoFIU) have long requested a mechanism to provide effective support for when their FIUs face non-ordinary circumstances. Supporting FIUs in these circumstances is one of the key mandates of the ECOFEL, as significant issues affecting a HoFIU could hinder the effectiveness of Financial Intelligence.In light of the above, ECOFEL has developed the concept note of the Support and Assistance Mechanism (SAM). The attached Concept Note, which has been approved by the Reference Group, describes the mechanism in detail. Since the SAM ultimately serves the HoFIUs directly, it is of utmost importance to gather feedback from them.
I would therefore appreciate your support in considering the attached documentation on this topic, namely:
