Dear members of the TATWG members,
I hope this email finds you well.
As you are aware, responding to a request from TATWG, on February 22nd 2021, the Executive Secretary launched a call for nominations for one position of Vice Chair for our working group. This was regarded as minimal additional support required for TATWG to implement its ambitious business plan, following my selection as Chair of this working group.
I am happy to inform you that within the 11 weeks nomination period, two colleagues from TATWG regular member FIUs submitted nominations to be considered for the one TATWG Vice Chair position advertised.
Without expressing any views on the candidates and their nomination, which is an attribute of the whole group within the selection procedure, together with AMR, we see the opportunity of having the support of 2 additional TATWG Vice Chairs instead of one.
This is supported by the Egmont Group procedures in place as well as the Internal Rules of Procedures of TATWG and is desirable given the important (and complex) activities included in the TATG business plan.
If acceptable to you, consistent with the Voting Rules for the Selection of Working Group Chairs and Vice Chair, the 2 nominations will be considered by TATWG for 2 separate TATWG Vice Chair positions, during the upcoming virtual meeting of our working group on June 28th.
Your comments to this proposal by Wednesday, May 26th 2021, are welcomed. As usual, a non-response is considered tacit approval. Thank you very much.
