Dear TATWG members,

We hope I hope this email finds you in very good health.

As you know, during the recent TATWG Meeting in February, we discussed about the boundaries between TATWG and ECOFEL. In this context, it was agreed to proceed, at least for the moment, with option 2 “Maintain the current core documents of the Egmont Group and achieve a more effective operational roll-out of services through the verification that the approach that ECOFEL and TATWG give to the different topics is not the same” (Please refer to the attached document in PDF). And I say “for the moment”, since in January 2021, the EC noted that a fundamental review of this overlap, including changes to the core documents, may be necessary in the long run.

In this context, it was also agreed during the last TATWG Meeting, to form a sub-group to analyze the TATWG Mandates and suggestions on boundaries and coordination mechanisms between TATWG and ECOFEL. During the meeting, Mr. Daniel Thelesklaf (FIU Monaco), volunteer to join the sub-group, and it is also important to have Mrs. Silvina Rivarola, from ECOFEL as an observer.

Having said that, I would like to invite 3-4 voluntary members to join in the subgroup to draft a document from the Working Group perspective, in order to outline the practical mechanisms for the two bodies to work in synergy when providing the Technical Assistance and Training support to the EG Membership and Candidates FIUs as well. We are planning to start the work in April and your insights and contributions to this subject is extremely critical for us to move forward.
