Dear Heads of FIUs, Dear Colleagues,
The countdown is on – we have exactly one week before our next Heads of FIUs Symposium. We expect to have a very exciting discussion on virtual assets from FIUs’ perspectives and how our group may engage with FATF. The seats to our symposium are going quickly!
As you know, Tracfin - France has kindly reserved a wonderful conference room for us for our meeting on Sunday, 16 February. Given the size of the conference room, we anticipate there will be room for roughly 3 representatives per FIU. As we are meeting in a government building, we will need to register in advance to get cleared into the building by security.
For those who have reserved seats for the symposium and provided their contact information, thank you so much!
For those who would like to attend but have not yet reserved seating, please R.S.V.P. to me and Ms. Lucie Castets of Tracfin – France, by Monday, 10 February C.O.B. Paris time, for you and/or your staff with the following information for each attendee:

On behalf of Director Kenneth A. Blanco, FinCEN-USA, I would like to invite you to the next Heads of FIUs Symposium. As we agreed in October at the last Heads of FIUs Symposium in Paris, we would meet on Sunday, February 16, on the margins of the next FATF to discuss issues of interest to FIUs. Attached please find the agenda for our next meeting, which will focus, as promised, on virtual assets from FIUs' perspective and this group's potential engagement with FATF. Also attached are the highlights of our meeting in October. FinCEN-USA, Tracfin-France and IMPA- Israel will have experts to lead the session. Tracfin-France has graciously arranged for us to meet at the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance from 14:00 - 19:00 on February 16.
We hope that you will be able to join us for what we expect will be a lively discussion.
