Dear HoFIU Colleagues,

I trust you are well.

Thank you for considering the proposal below to on-board additional secondees to the EGS from member FIUs to enhance the level of support provided by the Secretariat and the Egmont Group's overall activities.

EGS informed me that many member FIUs supported the recommendation and no opposition to the proposal was formulated. As the deadline for comments was August 23rd, I hereby conclude that there is HoFIU consensus on the recommendation that three additional positions in the EGS be filled by secondees from member FIUs.

I have also been informed that some members already expressed their interest in providing secondees to the EGS. Please send all expressions of interest (including the CV of the candidates) by ESW email to the Executive Secretary at Jerome.Beaumont@egmontsecretariat.org before Friday, October 1st, 2021 (end of day Ottawa). The Senior Officer - Position Information is reattached here for your reference. The EGS will review all proposals mid-October.

Please find attached a MEMO for your consideration.  The MEMO aims to seek approval to onboard additional secondees to the EGS from member FIUs to enhance the level of support provided by the Secretariat and the Egmont Group's overall activities.

The proposal is the result of an analysis of multiple scenarios. It has been coordinated with the EG Leadership and was preferred based on the minimal financial impact on the Egmont Group and other arguments listed in paragraph 11 of the MEMO.

These additional resources would allow enhanced support to the Working Groups and Regional activities. They would also enable the EGS to support the EG strategic work on the IT renewal, which will require more work from the current senior officers following the recent HoFIU decision.

You are kindly requested to approve the attached MEMO by providing your feedback by August 23rd, 2021. If no reply is received, this will be considered tacit approval.
