Dear Egmont Group HoFIU,

 

We hope this message finds you well.

 

As previously communicated by the Egmont Group Chair and the Executive Secretary (in March 2021), the 27th Egmont Group Plenary will be held through virtual means during the week of July 5th – 9th, 2021.

 

Consistent with the 2015 HoFIU decision to have strategic, focused, decision-oriented and consequential annual meetings, the Egmont Committee selected the “Implementation of a risk-based approach in FIU operations” as the theme for the 2021-2022 Egmont Group Plenaries. The Committee agreed to address/deliver this theme through a series of interactive HoFIUs webinars. Important progress has also been made on the review of the Egmont Group IT infrastructure, which will require a dedicated HoFIU discussion.

 

The Egmont Group Secretariat is working in coordination with the Egmont Group Leadership, Egmont Committee, Working Group Chairs and the Regional Representatives on the preparations. Ahead of the upcoming 27th Egmont Group Plenary meetings, you are kindly invited to save the following dates:

 

HoFIU meetings: open to the Heads of FIU (or a designated senior representative) and Egmont Committee members only.

The Technical Assistance and Training Working Group, with the support of the Information Exchange Working Group, will be organizing the following operational training sessions (OTS):

The EGS is working with the Regional Representatives to confirm the dates for the Regional Groups meetings during the week of July 12th – 16th, 2021. Invitations to the Regional Group Meetings will be managed separately.
