Dear Heads of FIU,
We hope this email finds you well. Please be advised that based on the emergency powers stated in Section 6.2 B of the Egmont Charter, and in consultation with the Egmont Committee during its intersessional meeting that is currently taking place in Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt), the Egmont Group Chair has decided to suspend FIU Montenegro’s access to the Egmont Secure Web (ESW).
Taking into account the information provided by the Regional Representatives of Europe II, it was concluded that the recent legal changes introduced in Montenegro in regards to the FIU pose a security threat to the Egmont Group, since ESW information would be available to officials that are not part of the a member FIU. More details about the situation of FIU Montenegro will be provided shortly by the Regional Representatives of Europe II and will be shared with the HoFIU in a follow-up communication.
