Dear Egmont Group Heads of FIUs,
We hope this message finds you well.
As already communicated, given the uncertainties around the pandemic, the Egmont Group leadership and Egmont Committee invited the Working Groups to meet virtually (rather than physically) during the first two weeks of February 2021. The Chairs of the Information Exchange Working Group (IEWG), Policy and Procedure Working Group (PPWG) and Technical Assistance and Training Working Group (TATWG) decided to convene virtual meetings at the beginning of February 2021. The Membership, Support and Compliance Working Group will address current topics through out-of-session approvals, but maintain the option of a virtual meeting if needed.
IEWG, PPWG and TATWG meetings will take place on the Microsoft Teams Platform. Please see the meeting programs below.
IEWG Virtual meetings
From February 1 through February 4, IEWG will be organising the following virtual meetings:
Monday, 1 February (from 7:00 am to 10:00 am EST) – 7 simultaneous meetings

· IEWG IT Professionals meeting (FIU IT experts are invited to join)
Tuesday, 2 February (from 7:00 am to 10:15 am EST)
· IEWG General Session
Wednesday, 3 February (from 7:00 to 10:20 EST) – 3 consecutive breakout sessions
· Breakout Session I - Usage of IEWG products & New Risks, Trends and Project Ideas
· Breakout Session II - Corruption & Asset Recovery
· Breakout Session III - Better usage and Presentation of IEWG work & Digital Transformation
Thursday, 4 February (from 7:00 am to 10:10 am EST)
· IEWG General Session
Registration to the IEWG meetings is open to all relevant subject matter FIU experts. These meetings welcome active participation and discussion from attendees. Egmont Group Observers are also invited to attend the IEWG meetings, except for the session in which the new IEWG Vice-Chairs will be selected.
TATWG Virtual meetings
On Monday, 8 and Tuesday, 9 February (from 8:00 am to 10:00 am EST), the TATWG will host virtual meetings to discuss:
- The 2021 Best Egmont Case Award competition,
- The BECA Publication,
- The Operational Training Sessions for the Plenary in July 2021, and
- Updates and new projects for the TATWG Business Plan in 2021-2022.
Registration is open to all FIUs and Observers but is limited to one connection per FIU/Observer.
PPWG Virtual meetings
On Wednesday, 10 February (from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm EST), the PPWG will host a virtual meeting to discuss the high priority projects under its current business plan and brainstorm on future work.

The online registration system for Working Group Meetings is now open and can be accessed at https://cvent.me/eb1RNL Each delegate is requested to complete registration before Friday, 15 January 2021. Microsoft Teams meeting invitations will be sent only to those delegates that registered for the meeting. Please note the registration limits for each meeting when submitting your registration.
Meeting Documents
Documents for relevant meetings will be accessible in the Document Library of the respective Working Groups Communities in Egmont Secure Web (ESW) starting December 21st. The IEWG will be piloting a cloud solution, which would allow Group members to access and work collaboratively on non-sensitive documents. Documents marked “3 – FIU Use Only” will be made available only through the ESW. If the solution’s testing proves successful, it will be offered to other Working Groups.
