For the attention of your FIU’s representative in the Information Exchange Working Group (IEWG)

Dear IEWG regular members,

You are receiving this communication in your capacity of IEWG Regular Members, which have voting rights in the current selection process of the new IEWG Vice-Chairs (two positions available). Please find attached the list of the IEWG Regular Members to check if your FIU is eligible to vote.

As you may recall from the attached email, the IEWG members have concluded an out-of-session discussion where they had the opportunity to express their views and any potential concerns or objection in relation to both candidates, as established by para. 14 of the Voting Rules for Selection of Working Group Chairs and Vice Chairs (hereafter “the Voting Rules”). Based on this discussion, and in accordance with the Voting Rules, the EGS concluded that consensus for one of the candidates was not reached and an election process by secret ballot will take place.

For that purpose, please find attached a ballot for casting your vote. As stipulated in para. 22 of the Voting Rules, the IEWG regular members should note the following in relation to the ballots:

  • They must indicate the two candidates for whom they wish to vote by inserting the sign [x] in the box appearing opposite the name of each candidate, in this way: ×
  • The sign shall be considered as an affirmative vote in favor of the candidate so indicated.
  • The ballot shall carry no other notation or sign other than those required for the purpose of indicating a vote.

All votes are secret and must be sent ONLY TO THE EGS by Monday, April 12th (COB Ottawa). After this deadline, the ballots will be counted, and the result announced. The IEWG regular members should submit only one vote per FIU to either via ESW at andrey.frolov@egmont.org or – in case of difficult access to ESW due to the pandemic - via open email to andrey.frolov@egmontsecretariat.org
