Dear Heads of FIUs and Colleagues,
I hope this e-mail finds you well.
As you know, on June 11, FinCEN circulated a draft copy of the Symposium Terms of Reference. Following the consultation period over the summer, we received responses from 7 Symposium Members and one observer. Of these responses, one contained substantial
feedback and one contained minor comments. We have incorporated this feedback where possible, without any significant changes to the spirit or content of the Terms of Reference as the majority of members were pleased with the revised document. For a record
of specific changes, please find attached a cover document.
We are now presenting you with this revised version of the Terms of Reference for adoption by the Symposium.
We are requesting only serious redline comments, by October 19. The absence of a response will be considered endorsement of the document. If you do have such comments, please provide them to me by regular e-mail, with a copy to Bruce Wallace (Bruce.Wallace@fintrac-canafe.gc.ca)
and Chantal Goupil (Chantal.Goupil@fintrac-canafe.gc.ca).
I would like to thank you for your collaboration in preparing the Symposium’s Terms of Reference. It has been a pleasure to help contribute to the development of this group, and I continue to look forward to its work.
Respectfully,
Nada Semaan
